WHO WE HELP 01 / 04

A little help for
big feelings.

Growing up comes with a lot to figure out. Counseling can give children a safe, steady place to explore their feelings, build new skills, and feel understood along the way.

CARE FOR CHILDREN

Every feeling has
a place here.

Sometimes children tell us what they need with words. Other times, they show us through big reactions, worry, withdrawal, or changes in behavior. Those moments can be hard for everyone involved.

The goal is not to change who a child is. It is to understand what they are experiencing, make space for their strengths, and support them in learning skills they can use at home, at school, and in relationships.

HOW WE CAN HELP

The things we can
make room for.

There is no single way childhood should feel. These are some of the reasons families may seek support.

Naming big feelings

Finding words and tools for frustration, sadness, worry, and everything in between.

Behavior & regulation

Understanding what is underneath difficult moments and practicing ways to respond.

Life changes

Making room for transitions in school, friendships, family routines, or home life.

Confidence & connection

Building trust in themselves and strengthening important relationships.

WHAT SESSIONS CAN LOOK LIKE

A child-centered approach,
with caregivers in the picture.

Children often communicate through play, creativity, conversation, and connection. The approach is shaped by their age, needs, and what feels comfortable.

  1. 01

    Start by understanding

We begin with a conversation about your child, their strengths, what has been difficult, and what matters most to your family.

  2. 02

    Make room for their voice

Work with children may include age-appropriate conversation, activities, and practical ways to explore feelings and practice skills.

  3. 03

    Carry it into everyday life

Caregiver collaboration can help new understanding and strategies fit naturally into life outside sessions.

A NOTE FOR CAREGIVERS

You are part of the story.

Working with children is also about supporting the adults who care for them. Depending on the child’s needs and treatment plan, Amy may partner with caregivers on tools, routines, and ways to stay connected while respecting the child’s privacy.
