THE MAKEWAY PHILOSOPHY

Every person needs
room to grow.

Growing up—and growing together—rarely follows a straight line. Big feelings, new stages, hard moments, and unexpected joys are all part of the story.

At Makeway, care begins with meeting people where they are. With curiosity, practical tools, and a steady relationship, we make space for what comes next.

OUR APPROACH

Compassionate care.
Real-life tools.

We believe meaningful progress starts with feeling understood—and becomes possible through trust, collaboration, and practical support.

01

Come as you are.

Every child, young adult, and family has their own story. We start by listening before deciding where to go next.

02

Find what works.

Support can be creative, skills-based, reflective, and collaborative—always grounded in individual needs.

03

Grow together.

Small, consistent shifts in understanding and connection can make room for meaningful change.

Meet Amy.

An educator's understanding. A counselor's care. A genuine belief in what children and families can become.

Before becoming a therapist, Amy worked as a special education teacher. That experience continues to shape how she sees children—not simply as a list of challenges, but as whole people with strengths, relationships, and their own ways of moving through the world.

Since entering the counseling profession, her clinical work has focused on children, adolescents, and their families. She is also certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), a specialty she hopes to expand through Makeway in the future.

Amy's credentials
Oregon Registered Professional Counselor Associate. Supervision and full professional disclosures will be listed here before publication.

LOOKING AHEAD

Growing into something more.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an important part of Amy's experience and Makeway's future plans. We're exploring ways to bring this hands-on, relationship-centered service to local families—including appropriate space and delivery options.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things
you might be wondering.

We're thoughtfully building the practice. Here's what we can share while the details come together.

Is Makeway accepting clients yet?

Not yet. The practice is in development, and appointments will not be offered until the appropriate supervision, regulatory, clinical, and operational steps are complete.

Will sessions be online or in person?

We're planning to start with telehealth for clients and services where it is clinically appropriate and authorized. In-person child and family services may be added later.

Will you accept insurance?

The initial plan is a private-pay practice. Fees, payment options, and any future insurance participation will be confirmed before services begin.

What ages does Amy work with?

Amy's clinical experience is centered on children, teenagers, and families. The practice also intends to support young adults. Specific populations and treatment formats will be confirmed before opening.

Will you offer PCIT?

Amy is PCIT-certified, and dedicated PCIT services are part of the longer-term vision. Makeway is not currently scheduling PCIT sessions.

A NOTE FROM MAKEWAY

Good things
take a little room.

We're putting care into every detail as Makeway takes shape. Appointment requests and secure contact options will be added here once we're ready to welcome clients.
